Well, guys, today is the day!
I have a shiny new design AND url! Welcome to the world of self-hosted WordPress – what a journey and a learning curve it has been.
I learned that although I’m the kind of person who wants to wait until PERFECT happens, I also can’t use that as an excuse to cover up any fear about moving forward. So I went 50-50 on this one, and though I was hoping to get both the business site and the new blog up today, I realized that it just was not going to happen. And I’m really ok with it, because some things are more important than being obsessive – like playing the piano for a few hours because you feel like it, or going out and celebrating your birthday because well, it’s your birthday! Not worth all the extra stress to waste your life away on seeking perfect.
So, that being said, if you find any kinks with the new site (because I’m sure there are some – and some details I’m still working on) just be patient as I get them all figured out.
I worked with the awesome Kate of Katelyn Brooke Designs on my logos, so here’s the branding board she sent me! Remember the original mood board I showed you guys? She did such a great job capturing what I was picturing – this thing is my happy place!
So, full disclosure – this is ALMOST the whole branding board. I have a few things up my sleeve, so there’s a little section I kept to myself for now. I want some parts of the new business site to be a surprise!
Also want to give a shout-out to Melissa at Melrose Street Custom Content – who really helped me a ton with what you’ll see on my business site, but also helped me make sure my writing on the About page was all awesome and polished and sans-typo.
Thanks again for being awesome supporters through this whole process.
Happy birthday to me, indeed!
